Forget all these major labels and “major people.” Keep doing you, move at your pace. Post original pictures, selfies, outfits, makeup looks, day to day life, and things that you like and look at. Be about it. Because nothing else defines you except you. These one time hits are one time hits. And they have a date. Don’t lose sight of you. Always have something of your own. This right here, my blog, curated with my iPhone is my own. It’s not part of anything else. It’s a lifestyle. My face is my face. My image is my image. My work is my work and that’s what I post. I share it all but it’s mine first and I exploit it first. And then there’s a lot of “mine” that never sees the light of day. Surprised? Don’t be. I guess I want to know that at the end of it, if I took all the content from my resume (the experiences, photoshoots, collaborations and events) and completely terminated that part of my past, there would still be extraordinary pieces left over. That’s the me I’m talking about. That’s the me I love and want to be forever. All of the glamorousness does not matter. And there’s a scripture, my absolute favorite from the Bible, it goes: “Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So, we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen, for what is seen is temporary but, what is unseen is eternal." And it’s 2 Corinthians 4:16-18. How refreshing is that to keep in mind?
